Coffs Harbour has an important agricultural base which supports a wealth of food production. Traditional products, such as beef, eggs and bananas have been a mainstay for many decades. As well, we are now seeing a range of new crops, such as blueberries, other berries, hothouse crops such as cucumbers. Importantly, we are also seeing a rise in small scale organic production of fruits, vegetables and meat.
Protection of prime agricultural land is critical for our future. My vision is for a thriving, diverse and expanding community of food producers who can sell excellent products locally, without compromising water and soil health.
